After Attending The First Mass At Carhagouha On August 12, Champlain And Etienne Brule Prpared To Join A Huron Excursion Against The Iroquois. This Photo, From A Painting By Rex Woods, Shows Them On Lake Wimcoe Near Orillia On September 8th. Taking Different Routes They Circled Lake Ontario. On October 10th, Before Brule Could Rendezvous With 500 Andastes Indians For An Attack From The Rear, Champlain Had Been Defeated Near Oneida Lake. Severely Wounded, He Recuperated In Huronia.
